  • Taken out of context like this, this scene honestly shows nothing "powerful." Context is everything.

  • what is kind of sad is that the depiction of Russia in the future was in essence America/Japan/West Germany in the present (at 1972).

  • Yes this scene is filmed in japan (1972, imagine how it is now) and the point it was trying to make was the way the soviet union would be in the future, with big express ways etc... But as we all know that did not happen! Anyways "Solaris" is and will be a beatifull picture! Even tough it is from the soviet era!

    The dvd has interviews with the stars in it from 2001 and i recommend that everyone who breaths and sleeps movies should watch this one! Even get the dvd! Highly recommended!

  • Visually it is a nice scene...powerful I would disagree with.

  • You should have posted the entire 4 minute sequence. It's still cool, though. This was shot in Tokyo, by the way...
