Senator Grassley voted against the plan to increase the federal debt ceiling because it delays meaningful spending reductions, fails to address entitlement spending in a way that will save the programs for future generations of retirees, and leaves open the possibility of tax increases. Tax increases are the wrong answer for a struggling economy and since World War II, for every dollar in new taxes, Washington has spent $1.17.

  • Why did you vote for the Failed Bailout bill?

  • Thank you for voting against this bill Senator. If we want to save this Republic, we have to be serious about cutting spending. Those that voted for it, may have ended their career in Congress.
