By rooting your phone, you get the latest android version in the world.
Take HTC Magic for an example, without root, it would probably still be on donut or at the most eclair/froyo.

  • where can i download the rom because on xda the link dont work no more.

  • @mrjmoneygoinin u have to flash radio and then flash spl then flash the rom and u got to make sure u do the right partittion.

  • @mrjmoneygoinin depending on what status your phone is in, you probably need to change your spl/radio. I recommend using mumilovers fastboot commander for this particular task. Before you do anything confirm what your phone is and then take the appropriate route.

  • I flashed that gingerbread rom from xda and my htc magic has been stuck at the mytouch boot screen but its not bricked any advice thanks
