We've had Astras in Mexico since a few years (7 years or so), and they've done really well. I have a 2006 with a 1.8 engine. It have good quality materials, and I think it's one of the best equipped cars in its category. They're sold as Chevrolet's, but they're now imported from Belgium again (Brazilian ones had lower quality).

In AUS they r badged as Holden Astras, we have 1.8L or 2.2L engines 1.8L = 92KW @6000rpm n 2.2 = 127kw @ 6500rpm. There is also a Astra VXR with a 2.2 turbo engine creating 147kw at 7500rpm. They r good on gas n. i bought one 3mnths ago n all it has only had a single oil chnge its very tough has thick steel poles in its doors has 5 star safety they are Front wheel drive and front engine come in 5spd manual or 4 spd auto. There is a wagon coupe or 5door hatch a convertable.

Are these Astras good cars? We are going to get one in the States rebadged as a Saturn. Ours will have a 2.3 litre engine, hopefully not the Chevy engione.
