@rozzombie: Platz had big THIGHS, not just quads. Much of his THIGH mass / development came from SQUATS and the form he performed. Platz pushed his knees outward as he descended down in squat which trains the adductor longus and the gracilis muscles on the inside of the leg AS WELL AS QUADS AND HAMS. That is what gave Platz legs the huge measurement. Look at pics of his thighs, they touched 3/4 of the way down!
I love all the idiots complaining about his form. This man is known for having insane, one of a kind leg development. His sets were BRUTAL. This kind of training only works for legs because of how the leg muscles are built. They respond to high intensity high rep training by growing when almost all other muscles in the body respond by shutting down. I've still not seen anyone match Tom in quad development at his peak.
@rozzombie Ok,I will go with that but since most of us are taught to use strict movement and it surprise me to see one of the Super stars of body building complete his exorcise in this form
@ncast54 yep, because you can tell by his horse quads that he's not able to do leg extensions with just his legs.
obviously he has already exhausted them, and he is just putting additional punishment on them to a level beyond where you ever will and is why he has bigger legs than you ever will
