I am a Champion—a documentary which chronicles the compelling stories of three diverse Special Olympics Oklahoma athletes in their quest to compete in the 40th Annual Special Olympics Oklahoma Summer Games.

The format is structured to follow each of the athletes as they prepare, train and ultimately
compete in the 40th Annual Special Olympics Oklahoma Summer Games in 2009. In their own voice, we see and hear each athlete describe their background, goals, training regimen,
who and what their competition is, as well as their reaction to the final outcome of their journey.
In addition, we see interviews with their families and coaches as they all work together in support of the efforts of these special athletes.

This documentary introduces each of the three athletes while we learn of their history, their challenges and their hopes for the 2009 Games. We follow their conditioning and preparation efforts for the Games as well as their experiences in qualifying events in each of their hometown areas.

We will feature these athletes' final competition at the Summer Games in Stillwater. The segment on Summer Games highlights the entire event—opening ceremony, events, award presentations and closing ceremony. And as a follow-up, each athlete expressing how they feel about their level of
success in each of their individual events, their final results, what they might do differently and what
hopes each has for the future.

The hope and intent of the I am A Champion documentary is to endear the audience to each of the athletes, and to compel viewers to make an emotional investment in their stories. We also believe this documentary will educate and inspire the viewer as they experience the unfolding of each athletes journey.
