Most of that noise between stations sounds like CFL lights in the house. Anyhow, you can get atations instead of noise outside the house a lot better. Try it late some Fall or Winter night...
I have one of those radios and have picked up Hawiian stations from S. Calif. Plus Atlanta, New Orleans, Nashville, NY, and much more. Some nights bring freakish stations from afar that only have 1KW or less at night.
