The Vauxhall Ampera is a brilliant solution to eco-friendly motoring. It's amazingly efficient, it completely eliminates range anxiety, and it's comfortable and relaxing to drive.

It's far from cheap to buy, and there's huge uncertainty over its residual values. The cabin plastics aren't particularly appealing and rear visibility is rubbish

@fisioserv Developement costs maybe? It is ridiculous isn't it, when a normal petrol Astra will cost what, £14000 perhaps. You're going to have to own your ampera for a very long time before you get the difference back!

I think it looks stunning and is really the way forward. I will definately buy one when it comes out! Especially with the rising cost of fuel. Hopefully the government will offer some tax incentives to make it really affordable!

Is it now to be made as GMC are holding on to Vauxhall remember the EV1, go and watch Who Killed the Electric Car. Oil is a global taxation system not just a fuel.
