Beatles & "Purple Hearts"

On March 19, 1964 the Beatles took time off from filming "A Hard Day's Night" to attend the ceremony given by the Variety Club of Great Britain. The boys were presented with "Silver Hearts" awards for Show Business Personalities of 1963.

Once again John Lennon is absoutely brilliant as he thanks the posh crowd for the "purple hearts ..." LOL
