Chapman Video Essay [Accepted] - Rainbow Sherbet

This is my video essay for my Fall 2011 Chapman Dodge College Film Production Application. I was prompted to make a 2 minute video about myself, that I wasn't in, highlighting non-film related aspects of my life.

I wrote all of the original music and was played by Alan Swanson.

Awesome Video! Im applying in 2013... Quick question though, if the prompt says you cant be a part of the video, is it a loophole that you used to narrate it? Thanks and Congrats!

@SCinema1564 It's not really clear in the prompt, but they say in the FAQ that you're allowed to narrate it. I think they just want to avoid claims of rejection based on appearance and videos of people just talking to a camera the whole time.

Wow, super good! What was your GPA, and what kind of camera did you use?

@ChoralComedy I shot this on a Canon 7d. My cumulative GPA was only 3.3, but that's because I did really poorly Freshman Year. Chapman is really holistic with their acceptance process, so stuff like GPA and SAT scores don't really matter as much as what you've done and how passionate you seem. That's not to say they don't look at them, though.

This was awesome. The subtlety in it is what made it great, and the quirky bits (ie the sound effects) kept the it from getting to dark or anything. Loved it. I just finished my admissions film ( although for USC - sorry haha) and I have no idea how y'all Chapman guys did two minute videos. I would have been going insane with so little time. Great job though
