  • Better sound quality next time please. Mr. Gura did a great job on 18 March and he took on Justic Scalia's questions head-on, unlike the District's representation. Hey, Chief Cathy Lanier; you just got pwned!

PREDICTION: Let's see how D.C. renegs on their "promise" not to prosecute someone who lawfully depends their home and kills an intruder with a revolver. I know, let's use the Texas law from 1 September 2007. I love to ponder DC politics, it's like shooting fish in a barrel. Ooops, my bad.

  • Militias were called for by framers of the constitution to satisfy the governments of the slave states to guarantee their ability to put down slave insurrections. Shay's rebellion too was ended by "well regulated militia" On the eve of the civil war the slave states activated their militias against the federal government. This illigitimate act fomenting civil war effectively ended the concept of state militias. Today we see in Michigan and Idaho so called "militias" are NRA wet dream.

  • "..Would The Post feel differently if we had vindicated a right about which it were more enthusiastic, say, freedom of the press? If the city doesn't want to pay civil rights lawyers' fees, it should obey the Constitution. Freedom isn't free." [Text comments from Letters to the Editor, Washington Post,

  • The beauty of the second amendment is that it becomes most important when they try to take it away.

The fact is that when guns are banned, we, as American citizens, have the right to take our freedoms back by force. It was one of the main reasons for the first revolution, and it may be the main reason for the next.

Lenxington and Concord all over again.....
