Okay, so this was because I was being asked to do some costume design and I figured I'd try something with some character design thrown in too. I guess this could also work for helping people who are having trouble coming up with ideas.. Basically start by creating a silhouette of a figure, and see if it works ( if it's balanced or whatever ) then build a character out of that. Umm... Maybe I will make another video taking these to a more finished level... Dunno about that one.

  • Wow, you've got some imagination. 5/5

  • when you make the silhouettes like that first do you still need to have an idea of what you want the finished product to look like?

  • you are my inspiration sir :D

  • The heavy lines and color takes away from them. But good ideas presented very final fantasy.

  • The music reminds me of something outta Chrono Cross haha. Excellent video!

  • just asking, uhmm what software did use for this???

  • i do like this one.

  • d-... did you just name a layer "the funk"?! Oh I'm so doing that next time I'm starting to color in some shit

  • Silhouettes are a great way to build up a nice concept design, though you lose the technique and the work becomes amature when you started lining and colouring. I hope to see some improved work from you.

  • @UnnTouchable1993 It's simply overlay. You can do it in GIMP just as easily as photoshop. Make a new layer for the colors and set it to overlay, then simply go over it. The value of the gray will show through while you color, and it doesn't show up on white, which makes it a nice, clean way of coloring. Hope that helps.

  • ahhhh this was an amazing video! ♥

    here's what came up! ( fav. me/d30fqfe )

thank you so much, i can see so differently now XD
