For a mole-type lesion, does it make more sense to have the whole thing, with a healthy margin, removed? My concern would be that with a shave or punch biopsy, if there were cancer, then it could easily get into the bloodstream?

I'm scared. Have sore on neck, saw dermatologist yesterday now I'm scheduled to cut the spot out which is half the size of an eraser, he drew on paper the size and shape of a human eye which is what he is going to take out and said would have 5 of 6 stitches then will send that to pathology. This seems pretty radical to cut a big hole in a woman's neck before knowing for sure it is cancer. Which tells me he knows from experience it IS cancer and is taking the whole area to prevent spreading.

This video is a good example of a good dermatologist. This guy knows what hes doing and its visible in the results. The dermatologist I went to cut out a chunk of meat that left a giant hole and does not heal.
