  • @j241865 @j241865 hi thanks for your comments. i don't think anyone alone invented any one thing important. we are so encouraged to pick the sole creator of things. rumsey contributed a lot on many things. that is true for others.

    rumsey didn't patent any of his ideas, because the law in the early united states was written in a way that did not protect what they call general ideas.

  • amazing i never knew about james rumsey and that he patendit the arcimedys screw prop for a steam boat when arcemedys put one on his ship the syfris i think i herd he put one on as a mode of propulshin to prove the arcemedys screw to the world but sum say that it was isambard kingdom brunel who was the first to put a prop on a ship in 1840s britan but changed to the propeller shape we know today & in 1838 he built the great western wich was the first steam ship to cross the atlantic u pik rip jr
