All I can say is that you music snobs are the reason most people CAN'T STAND classical music. It isn't accessible to those "less musically informed" people, because it's all about technique instead of HEART!! JB draws out the heart of every piece he plays. THAT is what I love and appreciate. That is why he is SO brilliant!!

@rhinolovingpianist77 agreed, but it just depends on how much the culture appreciates music and what type of music they appreciate. i mean, of course we have all the pop garbage out there. some of it may be crappy music, but it's still music. i'll bet joshua bell isn't hurting for cash though....on a historical note, the only reason composers like mozart and beethoven made any $ back in those days was because the had rich, and often, royal benefactors who paid them

Bell? Less musically informed? He plays a Strad, he plays it well, and he hypnotised me last time I heard him play Sibelius at the CSO in Opera Hall. Give the guy some respect, man!
