I agree that people have the right to believe what they want but people also have the right to speak out against what they want. People pick on scientology because for something that calls its self a religion it sure does break up a lot of families. Can you think of any other religion that didnt turn out to be a cult that kept everything about it a secret & kept people from questioning it. People have different opinions. We would leave it at that if they didnt go to such lengths to keep us quiet

Any religion that isolates people from family & friends that dont believe are definately hiding something. Religion is supposed to bring people together and teach people to treat others with love & respect. Scientologists intimidate people to shut them up becasue they might jepordise their money making scam that they call Scientology. We have a right to speak out against religion without fear. Why punish people for speaking out unless they're right?

I watched this doco on TV today and was disgusted by the scientologists behaviour. I have been researching cults recently and any genuine religion invites you to ask questions & research other faiths etc. They dont try break up families because of someone being a non-believer.Scientology is a cult because it doesnt allow poeple to question it. They are afraid they will discover they arent genuine. Its too secretive for a religion that supposedly doesnt have anything to hide.

I still think Sweeney kept his cool. Any other man would've done the right thing and decked that stupid yank.

Wow, thanks for your replies to my comments. I got 6 thumbs down!. Must be said that there really are alot of space cadets out there throwing an opinion. I take a guess that most of you are students. Like Sweeney I have served in the Gulf, Northern Ireland and else where. Indeed it frustrates me NO END when I hear some young idiot telling me they know better about somethings. . . and to me that includes those who have so much to say on this subject....

The help you need is not from Scientology, its from a psychiatrist. Thats why they hate them so much. Take 2 seconds and view Scientology from a 3rd person perspective and not as a member. Realize its nothing that you couldn't do on your own, or better in another religion - or devoid of one. You don't need people who take advantage of you. What greater good has Scientology brought you besides the imaginary things they feed you (for money?)

Of course they have...but that's what history is for! You study the mistakes of the past and take action to not let them happen again, whether in the modern jewish faith, christian church, islam or in scams like Scientology.

Not that I blame Sweeney one bit. He was harassed, tailed, interrupted, yelled at, bothered, incited and Fair Gamed. Only a saint with ice in his veins could have withstood weeks of that crap. Scientologists are creepy cultists.
