En 1500, les juifs du Portugal furent persécutés par l'Inquisition. Certains, appelés les "Marranos" (porcs), continuèrent à pratiquer leur religion en secret.   • l'hstoire des juifs na pas été facile en europe surtout au Portugal, ma mére est une descendente de "marranes " originaire d'Algave dans le sud, si il y a des descendents de cette communauté faite moi un petit signe ça fait tjrs plaisir

  • I think there is a difference about Marrano word in Portugal. In Spain Marrano is used to mean a pig and in Portugal that word was never used to mention a pig. It was a nasty period of Portugal history and following what the Spanish kings asked for Portugal repeat the persecutions and expulsions. Let's hope to do not see that again never.
