I am SICK of the term "single mother." It evokes an image of an abandoned, shivering woman, left in the rain, holding a toddler in rags while the father drives away in a convertible, smoking a stogie while throwing his head back in laughter. Many of these woman have forced the fathers out of their lives and are living with some other dude while collecting child support. I prefer the term "unwed mother" because it evokes the shame of broken family values, rather than pity for the "single mother."

There Are 365 days in the year, yet western society chooses the one day that is supposed to be a celebration of fatherhood to bash men.

of the brits are running a very focused program for the break down of society. marrying the goverment and being a singlemother is was more profitable and easy over there than a normal family

I think that this change in terminology is a deliberate attempt to make voluntary single motherhood acceptable. Initially it was "unmarried mother", then "single mother" and now a common description is "single-parent family".
UK News press release! (1) A new born Baby was abandoned today in the hospital, police are keen to find the mother as she may be in need of medical treatment and help!
(2) Father walked out on his partner and children, we dont know the reasons why but he must be beaten and hung up by the neck untill dead!
(3) Devoted father was told to leave his family home and pay CSA for his child, he cant afford to pay his mantainance because he is homeless now. Never mind, thow him in jail!
