On June 28th, 2003, Southern Pacific 4449 (4-8-4), sporting its patriotic American Freedom Train paint scheme, pulls a days worth of passenger trains on the Oregon Pacific Railroad for the grand opening of Portland's Springwater Trail.

With the country becoming more eco-aware, I think steam locomotives have a bright future, esp for us looking in the past to heal environmental damage which exists today to our environment. We are all entitled to our opinions and there are those who prefer to be in a negative state. You only need to stay true to your truth and optimism and just ignore them.

@4449steam Yep The People At The Heritage Society for Southern Pacific thought it would be good to paint it Red, White, And Blue again in memory of 9/11. Its currently doing tours and muesum events. Back in the original SP Daylight Colors

I have considered your suggestion, giving it careful & deliberate consideration, but since it is the truth, I don't consider it as you do. I am here to stay.
