I seem to remember the Birds Eye 'Stakehouse' advert when these men were singing to I think a different version of Que Sera Sera in a van and an interesting Heineken advert.
Quite. Perhaps the single worst aspect of modern Britain.
I doubt whether advertisers today would think their audiences would be sufficiently familiar with old-school farce to justify an ad like the Country Manor one. No great loss in itself - it was never, ever funny - but you still feel that something deeper, and valuable, *has* been lost (though obviously not the nasty racial caricatures of the British Lamb ad, which I'm glad to see marginalised).

Heh heh. That Country Manor ad is still quite funny, even with busty Bellingham before her Loose Women days.
25 years ago?? Whoa! No stupid ads for loans or no win no fee lawyers, I notice.
