The comments accompanying this video has got to be the most racist i have ever laid eyes on. Yes Hannibal is phoenician , he looks nothing like an african. But that is not reason enough to go call someone a sand nigger.
Besides, a lot of black people served in his armies and died for him. Black Africans can still be proud of that.
Hannibal is still born in Africa, so africans regardless of colour or creed can still be proud of him.
There is no need to fight over colour, religion and creed.

@zia685 Cool story.. but you wrong.. He wanted to conquer Rome but he just couldn't, by that time his army won 3 major battles and was tired! he didn't get any reinforcement from the Carthaginian senate out of jealousy toward his success, his only way out was with Macedonian king Phillip, and he didn't received his help either so he was trapped, and Rome killed his brother who tried to come with his army. eventually he left to defend Carthage from Scipio, and lost the war to them.

@MrBellumeus ur a idiot, in the battle of cannai he destroyed all the best legions. there was no proper army defending rome. he could have destroyed the city if he wanted but chose to not, that was his mistake, over the years rome start building their military might.

@zia685 If you knew a bit of history.. you would know that Hannibal was in no position to destroy Rome or any other city, because he lacked the equipment and the trained man to do so.. he terrorized Rome on the fields but more that that was too much for him.. he eventually entered one city but that was only because the opened they gates for him.

The Carthaginians were descended from Phoenician traders, Phoenicia was a middle eastern territory in modern day Lebanon, every depiction of Hannibal from antiquity shows him to be middle eastern not black african.
