I also watched the whole thing when it aired in Sri Lanka as well. Brings back so many great memories. Only wish the younger generation have something like this in their childhood to see that strong stories can be told without sex and violance.

I'm from Sri Lanka and this was a tv series loved by many and still it is being telecasted from time to time. This theme music and the entire drama are very emotional touchy and harmonic. love it. and i love the japaneese culture shown in it. unfortunately i don't think this culture is there anymore with the development process and modenization. oh and the little oshin looks very cute and the young Oshin is very pretty ...;)

has any one know where to download all episodes with farsi translation

@mildseven73:the culture is not quite different because of silk road. Japan was the first country in the silk road and Iran was the last one in this road, so these different cultures had the opportunity to talk with eachother during many centuries in the past and this drama was very popular because it illustrates a woman who do the best to reach her goals. that is the Iranian women's dreambecause they wanna prove that they are equal to men and as humans, they can achieve their goals also.

@shahroozkl why this drama is so popular in Iran even though their culuture is quite different from japanese culture?
Oshin was a HUGE hit in Iran. even when Saddam was dropping bombs on during the war, we took our TV to our basement so we could watch :) great memories.
