  • The more you cower from it, and duck and dodge it, and refuse to have it said, the more power it maintains, so that when it is used, it has a much greater affect because of this "unspoken law" that says it shouldn't be used. Terms like cracker so on and so forth fall on deaf ears to other races, because they don't cower from a word. It means nothing to them. I truly believe we much more prevalent threats to our culture than a simple word.

    But that's just my opinion

  • True enough; however I'm arguing about the indiscriminantely foolish way most black people use the word than the actual power of it. I doubt most black people even take offense to the word; nevertheless, it doesn't change the fact that it is a self depreciating term. Furthermore, although white people or other races may not be offended by the word cracker (or whatever racial epithet), they still do not frequent these words in their day to day life and their music.

  • I agree with you 100%. Using the n-word perpetuates racial stereotypes.

  • You make a very good point. Thanks for sharing your point of view.

  • how your gonna stop a grown man from using a word? impossible i just let people know that i dont like it when they use that word. if they continue i just dont acknowledge them. i aint punching nobody black people got way more shit to worry about than a fucking word.

  • @MehyarTV

Why? People should able to listen to whatever music they want to.

  • white peple shudnt listen to rap music anyway

  • I'm white and when you said, "When I'm saying ignant, ignant, i'm not saying ignorant its ignant so you can understand nigga." I used to wonder when I was younger if I was saying ignorant wrong when black people used to say that. But, nah, my friend who's black calls me the N word on occasion and I know he's just using it as a form of homie, friend, and so on. But, when I say I don't like the word, he just plays it off. Has Obama even touched that subject? Peace.

  • I am white and have the same opinion, but if I put up this up it would probably be banned. "Hypocrisy at its highest"- you couldnt have said it better. Hopefully your message will stick. The subject is so taboo it cant be talked about rationally. Ignorance is what's keeping it alive- along with the continuous use. Think of some saying you and your friends used to say when you were young and dont say anymore. Why, because you all quit saying it so it got lost over time. Same principle here!

  • once again, well put.

  • also after reading my comments you might say what's the difference between spanish and Latino. Spanish means from spain. Latino means Latin american, southern american, central american, carribean peoples that SPEAK spanish but are MIXED with the native inhabitants from that land. i dont have a problem with spanish people, but u call me spanish u only recognize one part of my genetic make-up.

  • time dont empower people by letting destroy ur whole day because they projected their negativity on you. dont get me wrong, i dont think that people should go around saying NIGGA! all the time, all im saying dont empower people and there is a place for the word artisticly. if u are trying to make a point for instance mos def mr. nigga. that was artistic way of use the word, and not being offensive but how people(mainly white people) view him. so there's my 2 cents.
