  • You cannot take portions of an interview and manipulate it to fit your opinion, my friend. Do YOUR research. If you read my book "Frederick Douglass Republicans: The Movement to Re-ignite America's Passion for Liberty" , you will find that every argument presented, including the TRUTH about Civil Rights Legislation is footnoted for the reader to research the matter themselves. Please list which piece or book your argument is taken from....

  • I Heard this guy on a conservative radio show in Birmingham where he tried to correct the "myth" of blacks and democrats by saying that it was actually Democrats who voted against the civil rights bill. Acutally, there was a small group of democrats from the south, the "dixiecrats", that got so furious about integration and the civil rights bill, that they eventually switched to the republican/conservative platform where they've been every since. K. Carl needs to reseach his history.

  • If enough blacks started listening to him, conservatives probably would have killed Frederick Douglass had he lived in the 60's and urged blacks to vote or take economic success to a higher level. With "limited government", no matter how hard K. Carl worked, no matter how "responsible" he was, his career choices would have most likely been limited. Is govt. a bit over-reaching at times? Absolutely!!! But individuals and the south had plenty of time to "do the right thing" and chose not to.
