Any questions (well, some) about Scott Walker are best answered by watching the excellent documentary David Bowie produced about him, entitled "30 Century Man". A DO NOT MISS for any Scott/Walkers fan. He's still going strong & putting out new & challenging music!

Wonder how old he was when he realized he was given that voice? It's a voice that doesn't fit the age but still there. You would think it belonged to an older person.

Underappreciated voice. As good as Bill Medley, deep with good vibrato and good range.

This is my youth - well, Sam, you were born to hear this - we made love to it and you arrived just about nine months later!

RIP big John, You helped create a masterpiece that will remain timeless amongst the greatest songs of all time.I have never tired of hearing it since it's release back 45 years ago, and I particularly love this ' live ' Ready Steady Go rendition I saw back in ' 66.In my personal top 3 favourite records. Thanks for the memories.

You´re welcome.
Technically the Walker Brothers Hits were done in a different way as Spectors . Spector used overdubbing. At the time, this was not allowed at Philips in England, so Franz had to use a big orchestration and lots of instruments being played double at the same time. That´s how he got the sound that´s similar to Spectors.
PS: Sorry for my bad english
This is one of the greatest songs of the 60's. It should of made number 1 in the states. I know I bought the record. I still have it.

Fritz, thanks for this vid. I'm in my 50's now and still have yet to find a song that has a more unique blend of vocals and orchestration. The only way I can describe it is haunting. These guys are so talented, they actually pull it off live---an amazing feat!
