He is in fact a devout Muslim and technically speaking according to Islamic law being a Muslim is considered to be patrilineal meaning passed from the parents. The moment Obama was born he was a Muslim from his father. He attended an Islamic school in Indonesia and knows the Quran by heart. Indonesia is a predominently Muslim country.
