Yes, it really isn't about his art it's about his character he has none. Leo has an abundance of younger friends that he likes to impress. He's kind of like the big teenager on the block that plays football with the 12 years olds and always scores a touch down but when he is around a real artist or hairdresser they see him for what he is, He has no impulse control with his temper, a freeloader that talks about how your polluting the air with your car while he's bumming a ride from you.

Like many artist's Leo is not a balanced person. He got a big helping of art when he was born but in other ways he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. He's a few cards short of a full deck. A few fries short of a Happy Meal. A few clowns short of a circus. The boat doesn't have all the oars in the water. Not the quickest horse in the stable. As bright as a lamp in Aladdin's cave...............

or is it just the usual professional jealously a lot of artists get from the wannabes out there. especially in Portland where 80% of the self professed 'artists' have absolutely no talent at all.

It's not about Leo's Art, it's about his freeloading dishonest personality. He a uses people and many people he has crossed paths with since his 20's feel that way... I'm only one of them. Wish him well but don't count him among my friends.

Wow!!! Not sure what Leo ever did to you guys (jamesportland & rosewoodcarver)???? I have known Leo for 20+ years and although I don't see him much any more due to geographic reasons, I believe your comments are off base and insulting. Leo is a fantastic individual and artist.

Yes, he is a very good artist but I would never call him a genius. There are lots of people who are "good artists" in the World and are unbalanced mentally as well, and Leo unfortunately is one of them. In Leo's day job as a hair stylist he is good also, but there are thousands of good hair stylists. He should stick to his art, he's better at it than he is at hair.

I've also known Leo for years and he's probably one of the few full-on geniuses among us, although, unfortunately, he's rarely recognized as such.

moving that painting the way he did was brilliant. also, if you live in Portland, what do you need a car for?

Yeah, rosewoodcarver is right. Leo, is a weird artist. I fully expect him to cut off one of his ears any day now. He's a decent artist but he's no Van Gogh although he's as weird as Van Gogh and unbalanced mentally as well.
