  • What do you need power seats for? It's just as easy to pull a lever underneath the front of the seat to move the seat back and forth, isn't it?

  • @Seattlecarnut Perhaps, but someone who is buying a Mercedes-Benz expects these luxury features; it's a luxury automobile after all... Also, you can't have memory seats without power seats.

  • And I'm sure not wearing her seat belt had nothing to do with her death... Uhh.

  • does the base 6 cyl model happen to have the electric reclining seats and all the rest of the good features or is it fairly basic?

  • As far as the US-spec S320 or 300SE, the front seats are power-adjustable. The rear seats are not. I'm pretty sure that feature was only available on the S420 or 400SE/SEL and up. As far as everything else, most of the convenience features are there save for some higher-cost ones like the dash-mounted telephone. The 3.2L and 4.2L have the standard coil suspension whereas the upper models have the air-suspension.

  • Sorry, a factual error. The adjustable suspension is hydraulic, not pneumatic. Also, the hydraulic suspension might ride better, but (especially since these cars are getting older and older) they are a HUGE HUGE HUGE pain to get in working order. Pumps, hoses, accumulators and, most expensive of all, the stocks themselves. I'd rather have the S420 to avoid the headaches and small fortune in repairs. The 4.2L gives plenty of power, too...

  • I own one, i like it, maybe ill get 600SEL if i can get one in decent condition

  • @hokman1 She didn't wear her seat belt smart.... When they crashed her body keep moving and her head slammed into the front windshield. And if she had worn her seat belt it would have kept her in her seat and she wouldn't have slammed into the windshield. The driver survived and he was in the front because he wore his seat belt.

  • @sherman3211 LOL! Like a peasant?

  • @Seattlecarnut

Try not to sound like a peasant, ok?

  • @NTL1991 dude, his point is that its not really a luxury at all. I have to agree. It takes much more time to get the seats to adjust electrically.

  • Mercedes Benz.'We compete with ourselves'

  • I love the 90's. Old but great days, like a W140!

  • @panzer6tiger LOL! Indeed you would.

  • @Seattlecarnut yes because my stupid power-seats broke. if i didn't have them i would have less things to go wrong lol.

  • @NTL1991 That's true. I've owned several cars, and only one had power operated seats. So, I'm used to cars without power seats.
