No challenge to ownership is implied. I've been working on an updated Millionaire game in PowerPoint using the new sounds and graphics. These videos are excerpts from what I have completed so far. These videos are intended for my portfolio as samples only - the game will NOT be released. Do not ask for it to be released.

  • Great job! One question - where did you get the picture of the 4 spotlights below the Q&A graphics?

  • @msurocks41924 I got them from the 10th anniversary Millionaire play-along game. I'm not sure if I even still have it anymore.

  • Hi, two more things, how did you get double dip to glow, and how did you stop the red bar with the clock?

  • The double dip glowing was from a circle behind it with Soft Edge enabled in Effects. Also, it was set to Grow with smooth start and end with auto-reverse.

The red bar on the clock is nothing more than a gradient (half red, half black) that spins 180 degrees for the amount of time that is currently set.

I'm actually rebuilding this thing from scratch, so I'll be posting updated videos soon.

  • hey there! this looks sweet!

i'm on proboards btw - i sent you a pm.

question on the clock - what animation did you use to have the clock bar (red half-circle) disappear 180 degrees as the time flys by? Wheel (1 spoke), wipe (right), and wedge (down) doesn't seem to fit when I apply those. If it is one of those 3, what properties/extra changes did you add?

  • @jubjub449 - You have to convert the 2010 PowerPoint to 2007.

  • @markgskwebb I'm doing one in 2007, I would do it in 2010 for the same reason, but my school only has 2007... and i'm making it only for school :(

  • Man, that already was a great help!

Thank you, I'm just getting started on PP...now I'm trying to find 2010.

I feel bad for asking again but I'm really wondering how you made the timer, markgskwebb...I'd be glad for any answer!

  • Correct - it is a combination of the Glow and Shadow features. When I did the effect originally, it was under Office 2007, but I animated it under 2010 - Office 2010 provides smoother animations, and things like wipe will fade during animation instead of just moving abruptly.

  • I'll take a guess, in his stead, and say it's the 'Glow' function which (assuming you're using Office 07/10) is under 'Shape Effects' on the Format tab.
