holy shit this is an old video

Consider that the A380's 'launch customer is Singapore Airlines, known for their excellent in-flight service
-
id say that the 380 is better, but however, id want to ride a 747. the reason is, and it quite odd,
it's because the 747 has crashed. when i plane crashes, they improve it. the a380 hasn't crashed (yet!) so there might be something catastrophic with the design that may one day cause a big accident.
-
uhh... considering boeing is a military and civilian contractor, where as airbus is only a civilian company.... i'd go for boeing.

The thing if you want to compare 747 vs. A380 is that there is another member of the Boeing 747 'family' that is going to roll out by the end of this decade, and that's the 747-8. There are certain airlines that seem to be 'loyal' to either Boeing or Airbus. But the 747-8's 'launch customer' Lufthansa also is a customer for the A380. Either way, passengers win because it's SERVICE that matters.
why did u change the awesome Eric Clapton song, change the world!?

Well at least I think it would be unfair to try matching Boeing 747 to Airbus 380. The 380 beats it in every way possible.
Whether Airbus or Boeing will win overall, I don´t know, at least Airbus sold more jets from year 2001 until last year when Boeing sold more. Now I understand Airbus has at least more orders in.
I would say Airbus has the win, but I´m European so...

Um...Boeing has sold more 737s than Airbus has of any aircraft all totaled of all models by Airbus. Not to knock Airbus, but they have a loooong way to go!

Yes it is very impressive, I looked her up on wikipedia, every five second, one 737 takes off. But they have also been selling her since 1967 so I don´t see how that plays into the competitiveness of Boeing today vs Airbus. I´m not saying Boeing has not done well, after all they were the biggest seller in 2006. I just don´t think it is fair to say the 747 matches the Airbus 380

The real winner, as pointed out in the end of the movie, is the flying public. Not Boeing or Airbus. Indeed I did not limit the movie to the 380/747. Thats not even the competition between Airbus and Boeing right now. The real competition is between the 380/787. Airbus is betting on bigger is better while Boeing is betting on smaller more efficient is better. As for having the biggest comercial plane in service, Boeing held that record for 40 years. will the 380 be succesful? Time will tell.
