Male feminists and Gender Archetypes

In this video response, I try and address some of the issues of male and female notions of value according to patriarchy.I also try and say a few things about how even male feminists are guilty of falling into the female archetypes of 'mother', 'whore', 'virgin' etc.

'Sex in the city' has alot to answer for.

"Feminism has destroyed the american nuclear family"? What? Because of increased divorce rates? Feminism has saved women. Some of my great-great... grandmothers couldn't take their kids and leave their abusive husbands because they had no money of their own. They were not in control of their lives. Their husbands had a lot of power. Marital rape was not considered a crime until the early 1990s in the UK. Thanks to feminism I won't ever be as powerless as some of my female ancestors were.

what a joke atozinco, women (especially white/western women) have always been the most privledged class in society. feminism has never been about equality, because true equality would result in true responsibility, something women want nothing to do with, especially when they can get the state and men in general to subsidize and give preference to them without merit.

The Gender / Marriage contract, Patriarchy, and the concept of fatherhood was the engine of civilization by putting men's sexuality to work for the benifit of women (who were exempt from the hardship of the workplace and the terrors of war and conscription). now women use the state's power to void the marriage contract while still demanding that men subsidize her and take his children away from him.

The feminists had nothing to do with anything you have stated. The rights of divorce and inheritance were changed in the onset of the 19th century, by Thomas Jefferson, who removed primo geniture and foedum talliatum from the law books. The suffragettes won women the right to vote, not the feminists. Women always could work outside of the home. There was never any law that prevented them from doing so.

So, you see the idea that women were "locked" in abusive relationships was just a blatantly false battle cry that feminists used to get no-fault divorce passed in 49 states.

**Now** thanks to "best interests of the child" standards (which is basically thinly-veiled code-words for "give kids to mom") mothers r gr8ly incentivized to divorce *for any reason* justified (he's abusive) or immoral (I'm bored) and this is wrong.

That is why MRA's are trying to pass shared parenting laws.

correction B got child custody and B also got the lions share of marital assets (and possibly support and alimony).

Now if A sues for divorce and it's proven that B didn't commit the four dealbreaker a's, then it was decided that A was abrogating (or cutting short the contract "till death do us part") then B got custody and the marital assets as suing for divorce for frivolous reasons was seen to make the person the worst parent.

These rules were gender neutral & they worked. Divorces were low.
