UK public information film aimed at the farming community, advising those who handle chemicals not to leave empty containers laying around.

Special thanks to Peter Raven for the source footage.

  • i think it's the way the camera pulls away and the near-deadly air of silence that does it!

  • This is the most throughly creepy and upsetting PIF I've seen in a long time.

  • @reidrules45 Public Information Film. Known as Public Service Announcements where you live.

  • @Applemask What does PIF stand for?

  • Bloody wood pigeons! I can hear one right now (I live on the edge of some woods). We have a renegade pigeon, who instead of going "Cu coo, coo, cu coo", has taken it upon himself to sing "Cu coo, coo, cu-cu-coo". I bet he is castigated by all the other pigeons.

  • Especially because the viewer is shown the danger, but then the camera pulls away, even as the kid and dog come closer. The viewer keeps getting pushed away, and is helpless and unable to "stop" this tragedy!

I imagine this sort of thing wouldn't seem effective on paper at the time it was pitched, but the finished product is nearly flawless in its psychological impact.

  • I remember this! beautiful.

  • oooooh, this is a good one.

  • The woodpigeons...they coo...
