1st heard this nearly 40 years ago [harnoncourt]...among the best parts of the suites... compares well with the minuet from the 1st brandenburg

I love the way the harpsichordist is in the position that a conductor will stand, and how he uses body gestures to communicate the tempo and even intensity. The only hand gesture at the anacrusis is graceful.
Also love the way the oboes strengthen the string parts and offer a very different tone colour

yes, you're right. And that's where koopman is unique.
Listen to lenhardts awful version and you'll see that this is the way Bach should be played.
