@disremembrance The 1999 version is slightly slower than the 1993 version.

I don't understand why everyone is saying that the 2008 version of 'I Am The City' is faster than the 1993 version there is no difference and this version does not have a heavy brickwall compression although the 1999 version is slightly slower than the 1993 version but its hard to tell.

I'm no ABBA fan, but I am a musician who mixes and masters his own stuff and I definitely hear the difference between the 1993 and 2008 versions and prefer the dynamics of the '93 version, even though I put out a lot of ridiculously sidechained and compressed stuff.

the drums sound distorted to me on this version. Thankfully, I have an original 1993 copy of More Abba Gold (mastered by Tretow) and the version on that CD sounds a lot better than this! :)
I just realised that I have commented on this video before, nevermind.

@mrwatchman111 No, I'm afraid it's not how you say. You weren't in Abba so you will never know.

'I Am The City' is a fabulous song from 1982 and I like the 2008 version.

@mozpiano2 What about the 1999 version? That's the one I have.

What`s the difference between the 1993 version and this one?

The 1993 does not have heavy brickwall compression, and is slightly slower too. I prefer the 1993 version over the 2008 version as it doesn't sound bad as the 2008 version.

@mozpiano2 AMENDMENT - after close analysis, the speed between the 1993 and 2008 versions is the same. I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote that! Of course, the 1993 lack the heavy brickwall compression found on the 2008 version, making it sound much much more better.

Too bad they didn't correct this track much earlier... This version to me sounds to loud and I bet Jonson used some compression to make things louder. I have only the original release from 1993, but corrected the speed myself though.

I transferred the audio 100% from the CD with no tampering from me. It really is this compressed on the CD itself.
