Scott, I understand this is no retail. So what according to your experience is best ultrabook in terms of performance for VS 2012 and other web development work ? Also is HD 4000 capable enough for light Photoshop editing (like slicing, save-for-web etc) ?

Never could use any of those tools just too intrusive, slows everything down, screws up formatting...overall i find they remove any benefit they could possibly add...

Try running the Windows Experience Index assessment again, After installing Win 8 on my iMac 27" I only had a 4.4, ran WEI and it jumped to a 5.9 (HDD everything else was 7 or above) :)

It's an i7, I don't htink there's any way to fit an i7 into an ultrabook without a fan.

Yes, disable your add-ins. It's my believe that 90% of complaints of speed around VS are related to poorly written add-ins.

I laugh when I hear people compare these chips to fanless iPads and other ARM Tablets; it would run circles around any of those devices while multitasking several things at once. It's like the different between a go-cart and a V-8 engine... unreal.
