  • @nospamful Actually it is 45 degrees. From the camera's point of view, it looks like 135 degrees, but he is envisioning 0 degrees directly to his right. So, he's rotating the raquet 45 degress counter-clockwise from being directly to his right.

  • Oops, it's not 45 degrees it's 135 degrees.... but I know what you meant!

  • I think we could say the same of top spin shots... we kill much of the action by getting too far. It explains much and I see what I was doing the other day that i was doing this day and seeing myself shadowing the forehand tonight; my swing path was more to the side than up in front.

    Next time I hit the court, my volleys will get instantly better just as with every tip I get here and there. Very well explained motion - I see now why Federer finishes his volleys the way he does.
