@blackstevea Hi mate! I have never met Jimmy as he lived down in the south. I only found out about this connection after talking to my grandmother and my aunt last year and looking at some old family pics. Been listening to their stuff since I found out and I love it. Brilliant band :)
Check out "Rainbow Rider", and "Rudie Movie Star" from this album; I'm also big fan of "Time Will Be Your Doctor", "Pisces Apple Woman", "Ain't Too Soon" and a number of others that escape me right now.
@CoalCutter, be sure to tell Jimmy that the Buzzard still has fans! I found them through a hard rock station I made on Pandora (hopefully they're getting royalties for that) and said "holy crap, who is this?!" :)
@ RayEdMcG - PRODUCED by Bill Wyman, not written by! Nor is it boogie! Kindly don't fill YouTube with such factually incorrect, drug-induced nonsense!
I saw these guys in the mid '70s as the back-up band for______??? I can't remember who I saw them with, possibly Mott the Hoople? Anyone remember who these guys toured with in the mid '70s. Thanks.
I just heard this for the first time on KSHE last night and loved it. I had never heard of Tucky Buzzard before and now must look into the rest of their music. I did guess correctly when I thought they had a British sound. Anyone have the lyrics?
Incredible to find this here, Jimmy Henderson is my second cousin, I knew he had this band but had no idea they were actually known by anyone. Thank you :)
This is a first ballot KSHE classic hall-of-famer. Along with Lake Shore Drive by Aleota, Haynes, and Jeremiah, The Last Illusion by J.F. Murphy & Salt, Seven Bridges Road by Ian Matthews (his was before the Eagles and slightly better) Two For the Show by Trooper, Home Again by Batdorf & Rodney, Sepia Sister by Shoot, and the early stuff by Gypsy.
I know, for a fact, their first album (the black & white cover) WAS produced by Bill Wyman. That was what drew me to it....that (maybe) that was Wyman's future; as a producer. I've still GOT it, too. This would still have been back-in-the-days, when....sounding LIKE any other band was (pretty-much) the Kiss O' Death. Originality was still HIP!
Excellent! Very underrated band that never quite made it despite the final push by Purple Records. The first 3 albums are currently available on a 2 disc set. Get it while you can, it's incredible. This song here is from the 4th album "Allright On The Night".
Currently, their 4th & 5th (final) albums are not available on CD anymore ..... here's to hoping they get reissued soon!
remember this off a sampler album purple people albeit 35 years on great stuff cheers

@CoalCutter73 I remeber Jimmy well when he lived in Hitchen - my dad was the bass player - they were great but always just missed out!
