What do you think Catholics do every day in the church, especially on Sundays? We attend the Most Holy Sacriifice of the Mass. We re-present the Sacrifice on Calvary on the Altar of the Sacrafice!
That means nothing these days. There are plenty of Catholic churches with crosses rather than crucifixes. Plus, this is Easter, so Catholics use a cross because Jesus is risen.
This "Liturgical Dance" is pure garbage. "Lex credendi, lex orandi." Worship is made for God, not for man's entertainment. The priest in this parish must be a gutless wonder.
First of all, I am not a trad, I am a conservative. I accept the Novus Ordo while accepting the Tridentine at the same time.l
I am assuming you are a Catholic to. For us Catholics, statues are not only for venoration, but also to help us reflect on the event or person the statue/icon depicts. Seeming as how Mass is another Calvary, it would seem fitting to have a Crucafix to help us meditate on the very first Calvary.
Why do the Trads want to keep Jesus nailed to the cross? He was only on the cross for 3 hours and HE rose.....why do you keep nailing Him back on? What's with that?
