George Gruhn continues talking about the difference between vintage and merely old instruments - this time, focusing on electric guitar. Find out which guitars are worth collecting, and again, avoid anything made in the 1970's at all costs! See more on Gearwire.com.

  • Hello George:

I have a 1967-ish Fender Jazz Bass and am just researching what it might be worth.

It is in great condition and I have owned it since 1977. Serial # is: 191297.

Can you give me any insight?

    Anthony

  • Thanks for appraising my 64' gibson SG. I paid 2500 for it and know it will bring higher one of these days. You appraised it at 4000 and it's worth way more than that to me.

  • Hey, I remember this guy from the local Zoo, didn't he use to work there?

  • was there today

  • I've been there...unbelievable...I played most of his vintage gibsons including a 66' SG Standard....oh my god it sounded so amazing I almost died.

  • man i want to visit that store!
