  • Wales and wesh bowmen were on the side of Edward I so they fought against Scotland and Wallice at Bannockburn.

Oh and I am aware of the irony of this video lol.

  • I'm glad someone is!

  • seriously wales cant claim Wallace at all, Wales are hopeless and are the only country beside england that hasnt been to war with england .. even though england attempt to pick on smaller countries , taking over wales would be a liberty

Wales will do anything to have a hero, so dont even fuckin try say Wallace was welsh, wales couldnt save any country from a war, they will always be englands side kick

  • This is only a bit of fun, we're not really claiming him!

  • You for got to mention me !

  • How do you mean, buddy? If you mean that you've got in touch with us at some point about William Wallace being Welsh, we may not have given you a shout out because we made this video before you let us know (we only keep track of suggestions for episodes we've not already done). But if you mean something else, by all means enlighten us!

  • Wales rules

  • I would have to disagree there rfc1Darryl the welsh do not need to eat shite nor is a county of England. The connections between wallace and the scottish brythonic descent of the welsh kings like Cunedda ap Edern king of Manaw Gododdin modern Edinburgh or Clackmannanshire proves thee peoles of scotland and wales have a lot more in common than you realise. Something to be proud of not to get angry at.

  • CYMRU AM BYTH!!! Wales and Scotland are Celtic brothers

  • and also at the battle of falkrik yes welsh were alongside the english but we refused to attack so before sayin tht we side with the english not true get it the welsh refused to attack wallace

  • why are u scots gettin angry over this lol william wallace was a scottish here its his ancestors that came from wales so he has welsh connections thts all and can i also say i saw a comment tht wales is englands side kick not true at all we have fought england just as much as u scots so lets nt argue about wallace he was a scottish hero but with welsh ancestry thts all still a scottish hero we arent claiming wallace we have owain glyndwr we dnt need to claim wallace this is just a vid

  • @Rfc1Darryl jeese calm down you woman! whats with the weird xenophobia? Wales has plenty of legends thank you very much and we fought against the english for as long as anyone, you sound ignorant of history to me.Wallace was born in Scotland =i was just noting that he was from Welsh stock as well and the name 'Wallace' means Welshman=no need for you to start whining like a bitch

  • @seonidh Ye that soundas about right ,the familly had come from Wales originally : Wallace was the younger son of a Scottish knight and minor landowner. His name, Wallace or le Waleis, means the Welshman, and he was probably descended from Richard Wallace who had followed the Stewart family to Scotland in the 12th century

  • @chrisjoneschrisjones - chris jones your just laughable to even suggest a legend came from wales, it was said that Wallace's grandparents were possibley welsh that came to scotland, but Wallace was born in scotland and his father was a scotsman so eat shit, "Wales" is just another word for saying the english countryside

  • But then people have been moving about in these islands for thousands of years with the same logic you could say that north wales Gwynedd was founded by a person from scotland as the first king was Cunedda ap Edern king of Manaw Gododdin modern Edinburgh. Who went to free the land from invading irish. He wasnt welsh but spoke a similar dialect of brythonic spoken in the welsh kingdoms. The welsh only started calling themselves that or Cymru once the saxons invaded.

  • @chrisjoneschrisjones His ancestors not him, may have originally come from Wales or Shropshire as followers of Walter Fitzalan (died June 1177). But thats second guessing at best. His father was a scottish knight and land owner. What is certain was that wallace hated the invading army and fought to free his country not wales.

He was the son of a scottish knight. Also in the 13th century wales was a part of England wallace fought aganst both english and welsh in Edwards army.
