Silesia is an industrial province of Poland which has been hit hard by the recession, but its inhabitants have a strong sense of identitity.

A recent census in the country saw around 200,000 people state their nationality as Silesian rather than Polish, and now there is a strong movement towards autonomy.

Nadim Baba reports from Chorzow, Silesia.
