Hi Siggi, thirty years ago songs like these were taught by music notes… To play songs took time with hours of practice. Just want to say, on the rhythm part in D when starting the verse… place your pinkie on the third string fourth fret… on the down stroke… then the pinkie off on to the up-to-stroke. The sound makes an extra base blues rhythm. On videos, John doesn't do this… his pinkie is resting. He has the other guitarist doing the rhythm and blues.

By the way, John Fogerty played this with his guitar tuned down a whole step, which means he played it transposed up to the key of E.
In that case you would play the intro as
D / B /
D / B /
D / B / A // G /
and the main song as E with a turn around to B / C#m
