Preparing Cassava for Mingling into Posho

Posho, made from cassava, is the staple food of much of Africa, including the Acholi of Northern Uganda. The tuberous root of the cassava is dug from the ground when needed and is peeled in preparation for mingling or cooking.

@ZombiePanda Cassava is hard enough to knock someone out raw, your better off cooking it.

Beware of the poisonous type though, it swells up your stomach and kills you.

You are right, but I am too, there are two kinds of manioc - if you have a moment, go to google and look up Tropilab Inc, it explains it all there. One is poisonous, the other isn't.  Kind regards, Fitz.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought you die if you eat this raw? or if you don't clean it properly.

This looks like muhogo to me; it's delicious raw, or roasted on an open fire and has a nutty taste. Mzuri kabisa. Posho is made from dried corn-on-the cob pounded to a powder and cooked into a very thick porage, usually eaten with meat or vegetables.
