no, it isn't but that's Anita Barone(The War At Home), she was in the first episode as Carol but then she read the rest of the play and she didn't feet comfortable to play as a lesbian so the producer and all of those ppl throught the same and they fired her, and bought in her brothers wife witch is the REAL Carol in all of those episodes.

the first Carol did'nt want to be a part of Friends for a very long time so they changed the actress. And I'm glad they did.

It really makes me wonder how they think Ross should be able to put up with all of this... First he gets basically dumped and loses everything (apartment, heart, etc), then suddenly he's thrust into being a dad, and now they expect him to be okay with not having his baby have his name?
If they have to cut someone out it should be Ross AND Susan, after all, Susan doesn't really have any right to cut out Ross at all.
