The problem with the Egyptian army was they could not find the way to Tel Aviv, so they showed the Israeli army the way to Cairo.

I just wonder why Egypt begged for cease fire and why Egypt could not win the war or find the Israeli border.

The best video is still as Sadat went to Jerusalem in 1977 and begged the Sinai back from Golda, I feel sorry for this poor man, but great video.

well i personally didnt like sadat very much. unlike you many israelis like him or at least have some respect for him as far as i heard. actually the way you talk tells me more about you than about the people you talk about.

Egypt didn't receive the Sinai back as part of their war effort, at the top of their offensive they were only a few km from the canal, not even close to retaking the Sinai and it wasn't even part of their plan. Israel however by the end of the war, was a 100km from Cairo. Egypt got the Sinai back because of the peace treaty Sadat has signed with Israel, not because of their war effort. Sadat could have offered the peace treaty, while avoiding a war altogether and still get Sinai back.

the only reason israel accepted the peace treaty was because they knew they couldnt afford many more wars like this one with the egyptians. so the liberation of sinai was a direct consequence of the war. the israelis could even take the smal town of suez at the canal, what makes you think they could have taken cairo??? the objective of the war never was to reach tel aviv or even the israeli border. it was to cross the canal and hold the lines in order to begin negotiations.

@facts1973e Sadat didnt beg Sinai back lol, Israel could have said no and kept the land, supposbly if they had won the war and they were so good, why did they give Sinai back? Its because we showed them how we can defeat them, and if they did not get any help from the americans during the war they would have been annihialated.

The problem is with your arguement Egypt never had the intention to take over Israel in the 1973, the Sadat as even he says in his speach that he wanted Sinia back and he wanted to show Israel that they are not immortal, in October 16th Israel asked for a ceasefire and the Egyptians agreed and it allowed the USA to resuuply the Israelis after their EXTREME heavy loss in Planes and Tanks and Ammunation.

and after israil have seen enormous casualities, tanks, american phantom planes. and there was a famous well known potoooooooe of MUCHE DYIAN CLIMBING A TREE AFTER EGYPTION artillaryt and air force had blown the place he went on the west bank and this photoe was available on the egption newspapers before 1977 untill israli begged the egyptions after peace treaty to forbid publishing it,, this war was really a shock to IDF, thats why they made the agranad commity to look for reasons of failure.

the convinsing words that egypt won the war, is succesful crossing of the canal crossing the ber lif line whom dyan standed on it one day and said this would be the grave 4 any egption but what happened is that it was the grave 4 israily and 4 those who says that israil crossed to the west side, so why they didnt completed their way to cairo and why they couldnt even be able to occupy the suiz and ask sharon if he can answer now what happened to him in portsaid and how many man did he lost....)

Egyption not bagged for cease fire but this part of the game .... we know how to play in safe zone ......Isreal lose much and we knew our limits due to the fact of the balance of forces is not in our side.

if Egypt has a strong supporter like USA or say 50 % only from that support It is so easy to erase Israel from the map not only to cross the west bank and keep israelis in trap.

Sadat went to Jerusalem to play his part and he got the land back.. he acheived his goal
