  • What lathe is this conversion based on? Is it a Hardinge?

    Thanks, Wilson.

  • It's a harding clone 2nd operation lathe.

This conversion use only the 5C collet spindle head and body and discard the rest of the iron. 1 2 c more photo click the link at the description, click more.

  • outstanding!

  • @TalksWithDirt

Software is TurboCNC for DOS. The computer looks like an old SFF industrial PC.

  • Most impressive DIY CNC I have seen on the web. Converting an 8x14 to do the same. Got some great ideas. Thanks!

  • super cool stuff, love the cnc machines

  • Very nice! The software interface looks like the old DJGPP Gnu C complier for windows. The AMP box looks homemade. Is this an open source kit?

  • I *LIKE* the gang tooling idea. That really makes a lot of sense but I've never seen it before. Well... apart from people who have rear toolpost cutoff tools. But, thats not real gang tooling like you have. Its such a good, simple idea. And I don't see any drawbacks related to stiffness.

    Well done! Wilson.
