The ballet Othello was choreographed by John Neumeier to music by Arvo Pärt, Alfred Schnittke, Naná Vasconcelos et al. and was premiered by the Hamburg Ballet in Hamburg on 27 January 1985, with Gamal Gouda as Othello, Gigi Hyatt as Desdemona, and Max Midinet as Iago. The work remains in the repertoire of the Hamburg Ballet, seeing its 100th performance in 2008.
There is a related article that I found interesting and relevant: http://www.danceviewtimes.com/2008/04/back-to-its-afr.html
That was not a nice comment I made. I don't mean the dancers aren't fine. The choreography is static, painfully slow and in many instances pointless. Compare the Pdd you mention to Romeo for instance. Which love do you really believe in even though Othello is supposed to be more realistic?

@1931JC no your comment was fine, it just was so childishly put in a word "yuk" that it made me laugh:) I personally enjoyed it's "static and slow" motion, but if you didn't it's totally ok with me, I am just happy that you've watched it
