I've yet to find videos on youtube that thoroughly demonstrate the capability of the switching, splitting and the VA (mid) boost on these guitars. This particular guitar, is a recent addition to the Tom Anderson line, that they call a "mongrel". It is basically a strat & tele hybrid. Strat contours as well as strat pickguard configuration. But Tele Body shape WITH a non bigsby tremolo :) !! This video was made to convey the wide range of the tonal palette, and the versatility in the sounds that Tom Anderson instruments offer. (I'm playing through a Fender Twin reverb and the amp settings are bass: 3 mid: 4 treble: between 3 & 4) Big shoutout to Roy at Tom Anderson guitars for making my sonic visions come to reality, and shoutout to my brother Daniel Flores for having the will to film this. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions, peace & warmth - Z

  • Beautiful Axe. You make is sound great. It that the Ruby Slipper finish on the top?

  • @globalisley Thanks brother. And the finish is actually a translucent sparkle plum, its a flame maple top though, not quilted or solid, and natural back. Hope that helps man. Warm regards.

  • Awesome demo! Sounds fantastic and your playing was great. I am assuming the bridge is floating, right?

  • @scarem84604 Yes my brother! Its a vintage style tremolo, and I have it set up so that its slightly floating just enough to be able to pull up half a tone or so. Its not good for tuning stability, or playing open positions, but I find it to be very expressive.

  • very nice and versatile guitar. also very comprehensive explanation....job well done!! I would only suggest for you not to feel that you have to play so fast for video purposes. Its obvious that you can play but simple is better for demonstrations. Again nice job and chops!

  • @serviviente7 Thanks. In regard to your comment abt purpose, I can assure u I dnt feel I have do anything at all, nor do try to play fast. I just do my thing, & intend to demonstrate the sound of the pickups. I disagree with you as for the purpose of this video, it is actually more fruitful to play the guitar rather than strum a couple of chords. If your watching this video to hear how Anderson pickups sound, you'll get that. If you want to copy my licks, I apologise that I'm going too fast 4 u.

  • I just watched the I'm On One vid and I wanted to find out what this awesome looking guitar is, so I ended up here. Now your demo is incredible, but your playing is out of this world. Now I don't even bother because I will never be worthy of owning such a great instrument. I'll stick with my Fender Tele...
