On July 5, 2010, Probert was pronounced dead, after being rushed to Windsor Regional Hospital, with no vital signs after collapsing on a boat on Lake Saint Clair, Ontario, early news sources are reporting
His father in law says bob lost the fight of his life. In my opinion, that was the only fight the guy lost. He was a great enforcer and really kept the crowd going.
as a fan and player of hockey, The one thing that bums me out about his death is that he was a great enforcer and a fan favorite for the red wings, my favorite team, and probably many others, and yet i wasn't born yet at the time or I was too young to actually see him play/fight and fully grasp and appreciate his talent and grit. All I can sadly do now is watch videos on youtube of his prowess and dominance in battle, but never see him do it. RIP.
Sad news indeed. He was a class act off the ice. He took extra time to take a few pictures with my son and I 2 yeras ago after an alumni game.Super nice guy..RIP BOB.
