  • We British are known throughout the world as being a joke when it comes to 20th century engineering. Take the Morris Ital for instance. But once in a while we build something that is truly outstanding and a masterpiece of engineering beauty. The Deltic is one of them.

  • @bluebus270 The Spitfire and the Harrier are also great examples of British know-how.

  • Every country had it's area of expertise, Germany was renown for fine engineering, England for some damn fine craftsman, Australia for making almost anything out of a piece of wire and an empty petrol drum, America for just making things bigger than anywhere else. Now, the world economy has screwed all that, we're all reduced to mediocrity, all drive the same car with a different name badge on it, all watch TV's made in some Asian factory which pays $1.50 a day wages if your lucky. Crying shame.

  • @stepheng1483

Take your illusion elsewhere, these example of yours are about to get 100 years old, today these islands are a hole in the ground. All because of this expanding so-called welfare state.

  • @xXpollypocket1994Xx Nah, that's just Edinburgh, not the Brits. Some good tram systems down south.

  • @bluebus270 Wrong. Spitfire, English Electric Lightning, Mauretania, Queen Mary, Mallard, Flying Scotsman, etc., etc., etc. Africans could certainly be regarded as a joke when it comes to 20th century engineering, us, never. Take your anti British propaganda elsewhere.

  • i had a morris ital for 5 years never let me down

exept the severe clutch judder in reverse

    synchromesh on 2nd gear

    constantly seizing steering trunions

4 th gear would not engage (final death nail)

  • klasyczny brytyjski lok 5!

  • @bluebus270

I had a Morris Ital. I loved the engine. Basically the same as the Morris Minor - easy to repair. Try it on a modern car.
